What's Closed in Forsyth on MLK Day

We've compiled a list of closings in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday.

All federal, state and local government offices as well as banks will be closed on Monday Jan. 21 in honor of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

The holiday marks the birthday of the famed civil rights leader. King’s actual birthday is on Jan. 15, but the third Monday of January was designated as the official holiday in 1983.

The city of Cumming and Forsyth County government will be closed for the holiday.

The Forsyth County Tax Commissioners office will also be closed on Monday for the holiday as well as the four branches of the Forsyth County Public Library system.

Forsyth County School District offices and schools will be closed as well as classes and offices at Lanier Technical College.

United States Post Offices will also be closed on Monday and mail will not be delivered.

Forsyth County's three recycling centers will also be closed on Monday.

City and county offices, schools, banks and all post offices will resume regular operating hours on Tuesday and regular mail delivery will resume on that day.
