POLL: Does Obamacare Need More Publicity?

A former health advisor to President Obama claims people are not signing up in large numbers because the administration hasn't promoted it enough.

Despite a nearly $700 million marketing campaign, a website with a $292 million total contract value and a recent push by President Obama himself, a former health advisor believes more could be done to tout the benefits of Obamacare and get people enrolled.

Ezekiel Emanuel, brother of former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, told Fox News Sunday that the administration has not given Obamacare a proper promotional push.

"No one has launched a big PR campaign to get these people signed up because of the problems with the federal website," he said." "We are about to launch a big PR campaign, and that, I think, is going to persuade a lot of people to sign up."

There has been considerable promotional spending connected to Obamacare in recent months including $12 million in Obamacare promotional ads which began airing Sept. 30, a $44 million contract with public relations firm Weber Shandwick to promote Obamacare and a $20 million contract awarded to public relations firm Porter Novelli to launch an Obamacare multimedia campaign.
