Daves Creek Elementary Receives Blue Ribbon Award, Ice Cream Party

Some 800 students, teachers and staff members were treated to Blue Bell ice cream this morning.

Blue Bell Creameries' Chris Elliott and Tony Gregory, left in the photo, presented ice cream and a Blue Bell book this morning to Daves Creek Elementary School Principal Eric Ashton, center.  

Daves Creek, a National School of Excellence, was one of 286 schools named in the 2013 cohort of National Blue Ribbon Schools, based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in improving student academic achievement.

George State Schools Superintendent John Barge, right of center, was also on hand to present the Blue Ribbon Award to Daves Creek and all of its students.
