Law Day 2011
The scheduled guest speaker for Law Day lunch is Mr. McCracken "Ken" Poston, a former four-term state legislator who was the criminal defense attorney for Ray Brent Marsh in the Tri-State Cematory case. He will talk about the issues he faced in representing an unpopular client in a case that received national media attention.
The American Bar Association has selected as the national theme for 2011 Law Day as "The Legacy of John Adams from Boston to Guantanamo".
The theme was selected to recognize John Adams' role in the 1770 Boston Massacre trials as a noteworthy example of commitment to the rule of law and the defense of the rights of the accused, even in cases where advocates represent unpopular clients and become involved in matters that generate public controversy.
