First Day of School - How Did it Go?

Students in Forsyth County returned back to school Thursday for another exciting year of learning, activities and connecting with friends, teachers and staff. How did it go?

More than 38,000 students within the district’s 36 schools returned to the classroom Thursday kicking off the first day of the 2012-13 school year, according to Forsyth County Schools.

So that poses the question – how did the first day of school go for your children and how did you manage that first hectic day?

  • I am a Forsyth County Special Needs school Bus Driver and I have a great day meeting my new students and getting them to and from school safely! - Susan Reeves Wood

  • We had a great day minus one bus coming 15 mins EARLY on the first day of school! Everyone got off to a great start and had a great day! Which is amazing considering all my kids are in different schools... Elm, middle, and high.   • We had three get on the bus today [Thursday] for Mashburn, K, 1st, 2nd. All had great days. Saw old friends and made new ones. Mainly remember only lunch, recess, gym, and math from today and are still ready to hit it again tomorrow. Hoping the year goes slowly but I'm afraid if I blink I'll miss it. - Julie Faig
