Forsyth County also had five recipients recognized as AP STEM Schools, a particularly difficult feat. Forsyth Central, North Forsyth, Lambert, South Forsyth and West Forsyth qualified by having students testing in at least two AP math courses and two AP science courses.

All five schools also received recognition as being five of the 80 AP STEM Achievement Schools in Georgia, which means 40 percent of students had to meet the above criteria, as well as, score at least a three on AP math and AP science exams.

Advanced Placement classes and exams are administered by the College Board, which also administers the SAT. AP classes offer rigorous college-level learning opportunities to students in high school. Students who receive a three, four, or five on AP exams may receive college credit.
