FCS Superintendent Search Community Meeting Thursday

The Forsyth Board of Education is in the process of developing a leadership profile that will be used in the search for the new superintendent.

Members of the Forsyth County Board of Education have requested the public's assistance in developing a leadership profile that will be used in the search for the new superintendent.

Last month, Superintendent Dr. L.C. β€œBuster” Evans notified the Board of his plan to retire from the field of public education on June 30, 2014.

Recognizing that the entire community has a stake in the selection of the new superintendent of schools, the Board has created two opportunities to gather input as they work through their search timeline.

They include clicking here to take a one-page survey where all responses will be confidential.

And attending a community meeting on Thursday, March 13 at the Forsyth County Board of Education/Professional Development Center, located at 1120 Dahlonega Highway in Cumming.

The meeting is set to begin at 6 p.m. For questions concerning the search, contact Chairperson Darla Light at dlight@forsyth.k12.ga.us.

Gov. Nathan Deal announced recently that Evans will join the Department of Corrections as the assistant commissioner of Education effective July 1.
