More Than 100 Colleges, Universities Look for Students at Lanier Tech

High school students can talk one-on-one with representatives of colleges and universities (see PDF file to the right for list) at the on Tuesday, Sept. 13, as the Georgia Education Articulation Committee’s (GEAC) Fall 2011 PROBE College Fair comes to town.

The fair, which will run from 9 a.m. - noon, is free and open to high school students and their families. The eight-week fall tour consists of 61 college fairs held at various schools and venues across the state of Georgia.

Later in the day, the PROBE College Fair will be in Alpharetta at from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

GEAC’s mission is to stimulate interest in post-secondary education for citizens of Georgia by bringing together students, parents, counselors, administrators and representatives of post-secondary educational institutions including, but not limited to, colleges and vocational-technical schools.

“For many families, finding the time and resources, especially with the price of gas, to visit colleges and universities is tough,” said Bill Smith, executive director of PROBE. “By bringing the PROBE college fair to the students, they are able to be exposed to schools they might not otherwise have a chance to experience.”
