Security Tips and Info from Phoenix Security

This Weeks blog is simply some helpful hints for staying safe and secure when out and about.

1)  Always travel in groups.  Never go it alone.  You are less likely to be the victim of a crime if you don't travel alone.

2)  When traveling by vehicle please keep doors locked at night when traveling.  Also, never pull over for any one or any reason (including law enforcement).  drive to a populated and well lit area.  ie:  truck stops, gas stations that are 24 hours, shopping centers, etc.  You can always call 911 and tell them you are being followed by law enforcement, and ask if they have someone on that route, and they can track your location and tell you whether the person behind you is legitimately an officer or not.

3)  Keep your cell phone charged and ready for use.  Remember even if you don't have cell service, you can still dial 911 for emergency help.

4)  Always let someone close to you know where you are going, how long it will take you to get there and when you are leaving and should arrive?  Then once you arrive call and let them know you're there.  That way if you don't arrive family, friends, and/or emergency personnel can follow your route and assist or find you if necessary.

5)  If you stop for any reason, do not leave your car unlocked.  Do not leave anything of value in plain sight, such as tablets, phones, wallets, ipods.

With Spring and Summer coming and Vacations coming as well, I hope these tips keep you and yours safe.  Safe travels!
