Big Creek Greenway in Forsyth Closed Due To Flooding

It's unclear when the park will reopen.

The Big Creek Greenway in Forsyth County from McFarland Parkway to Bethelview Road is closed due to flooding, the county announced Monday.

The greenway, a linear park, in Forsyth is a 12-foot wide concrete and boardwalk path meandering through the deciduous woods along Big Creek. It offers an ideal setting for walking, jogging, biking and inline skating.

Phases 1, 2 and 3 of Forsyth's Big Creek Greenway, which span from McFarland Parkway to Bethelview Road, total about 6.8 miles, according to the county's website. Forsyth plans to add Phases 4 and 5, which would result in an approximate 15-mile Big Creek Greenway.

It's unclear when the park will reopen following heavy rain.
