3rd Annual “Team Soldier Boy” One Pitch Softball Tournament

The 3rd Annual “Team Soldier Boy” One Pitch Softball Tournament on slated to take place on October 8, 2010 at Central Park.

This charity fundraiser was founded by Kenneth Stewart III, Dawsonville’s Soldier Boy, in 2009 and has since raised over 4K for his family as well as another Brain Tumor patient.

In order to make this event a success, we are asking the community to come out and support all the teams participating this year! Enter a team of your own (deadline is Sept. 23, 2011), volunteer or cheer on the teams and get your belly full of some delicious food and baked goods!

Proceeds to Benefit: “Soldier Boy” Kenneth Stewart:

Kenneth, 10, was diagnosed with medulloblastoma brain cancer in November 2008. He underwent surgery to remove 1 of 3 tumors and endured extensive chemo and radiation treatments. After much determination, his MRI results were free and clear in March 2010. Life returned to normal, Kenneth went back to school full time and continued playing baseball! On March 29, 2011 Kenneth's MRI results were far from what we had hoped for... the cancer had returned in the brain and spine. Kenneth has a long battle ahead of him that he is prepared to FIGHT! The family continues to stay positive and willing to persevere along yet another journey they have been presented with. Let's all join in and help this family make their journey a little easier!
