Forsyth County Prepares for Inaugural Labor Day 10K

The Labor Day 10K race will take place along Peachtree Parkway in south Forsyth.

Forsyth County’s Inaugural Labor Day 10K, hosted by Totally Running to benefit Talk About Curing Autism, will be held on Monday, Sept. 3, starting at 7:30 a.m. 

The race route will follow Peachtree Parkway (Highway 141) from Johns Creek Parkway to the located in The Shops at Brannon Crossing at 405 Peachtree Pkwy in Cumming. One lane of Peachtree Parkway will closed for this certified, fast-paced 10K.

Special awards will be presented to the top three overall runners and top three masters, as well as top three in all five-age categories (age 19 and under through 65 plus).

Individual online registration is $35 through Sunday, Sept. 2 and $40 on race day.

Talk About Curing Autism (TACA) provides support, education and information, and resources to close to 25,000 families across the United States who are touched by autism and has a local TACA Chapter in the Johns Creek/Cumming area. One in every 91 children in the United States has autism. TACA aims to speed up the cycle time from the autism diagnosis to effective treatments. TACA helps to strengthen the autism community by connecting families and the professionals who can help them, allowing them to share stories and information to help people with autism be the best they can be. Ninety-five percent of TACA's programs and services are provided at no charge and include education and support meetings, parent mentoring, and the Autism Journey Guide.
