Have You Met...Eric Alvarez?

This South Forsyth High School graduate is now a golf champion at the University of West Georgia.

From high school to college, Eric Alvarez has proven himself adept in any sport he chooses. At the University of West Georgia, Alvarez has settled into golf with the Wolves Program where he has made a name for himself as a true champion.

It all started in 2009 when Alvarez was selected to play on two All Tournament teams, including the 2009 Callaway Collegiate Invitational and the UWG Invitational. In 2010 at the Argonaut Invitational in Pensacola, FL Alvarez stood out at two under par 70 on the first day of the tournament.

Alvarez was also selected to attend the NCAA Student Athlete Leadership Conference at Disney World in Orlando, FL and was named a two time member of the Gulf South Conference Academic Honor Roll.

The Wolves Golf Program at the University of West Georgia is led by Head Coach Barry Harwell, who feels very confident that Alvarez will continue to improve and display strong leadership on the course in the upcoming 2011-2012 season.

Alvarez will be the first one to tell you that it doesn't "just happen." His performance on and off the golf course comes with a very focused effort to improve his game and his study skills on a consistent basis.
