Are you ready for another round of picks?

at Cass: The Lambert  Longhorns (7-2) have fallen from the top of the Region 7-AAAA standings to fourth place. They’re not in danger of missing the playoffs, but after a 5-0 start — which included a decisive win over defending state champ Chattahoochee — they’re 2-2. In the recent span, Lambert has been shut out twice (Johns Creek and Rome) and had close calls with two 3-6 teams (Woodland and Sequoyah). Cass (0-9) provides little threat this week, but things will get a lot more difficult on Nov. 11. Lambert 27, Cass 13.

at Johns Creek: Johns Creek (8-1) concludes its regular season with visiting Forsyth Central (2-7). It’s been a season to remember for the Gladiators, who are playing in only their second full varsity season. It’s been one to forget for the Bulldogs, who haven’t made the playoffs in a decade. The Gladiators still have a chance at winning the Region 7-AAAA title if they win and Chattahoochee loses at Rome. The Glads will do their part in that equation. Johns Creek 31, Forsyth Central 17.

Alpharetta at : Region 6-AAAAA champ Alpharetta, winner of seven straight games, faces a 1-8 team that you might expect will be a pushover. But North Forsyth has been much more competitive as of late compared to earlier in the season, and the Raiders have shown a penchant for letting inferior teams play with them until pulling it out in the end. There’s no upset here, but there also may not be a blowout either. Alpharetta 30, North Forsyth 21.

at Northwest Whitfield: South Forsyth’s rocky season comes to an end in Tunnel Hill, Ga., Friday with a game against the Bruins (5-4). South Forsyth (2-7) has lost five games in a row, including two by shutout, and face a Bruins team that is seven points away from a 7-2 record and a playoff berth. Northwest Whitfield 24, South Forsyth 17.

Strong Rock at : A pair of 2-7 teams square off in this Region 5-A crossover game. Neither team has won since September, so this one’s a tough one to call. When in doubt, go with the home team. Pinecrest 21, Strong Rock 20.

Note: West Forsyth (9-1) is idle this week.
