Star Wars Fan Film Features Battles Across University of Georgia Campus

Sci-fi tribute from UGA wide receiver brings lightsabers to the end zone.

Football helmets were replaced with storm trooper helmets this spring as the passion of one wide receiver has led to a Star Wars fan film featuring the University of Georgia campus.

"Retribution" came from Chris Conley's search for fellow sci-fi fans looking to record lightsaber duels on campus, according to Fox Sports.

The film was released Saturday on Conley's YouTube page.

"Retribution" includes roles for his fellow players and UGA coaches, and shots from across the Athens campus, including Sanford Stadium.

“We had the first idea initially in November of 2013,” Conley told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “January we started preproduction and choreographing and things. We started shooting in February. … Friday, Saturday and Sunday for three weeks. Ever since then it was editing, sound effects, special effects and lots of revision — lots of revision.”
