West Forsyth, Lambert Hope to Build on Football Successes

The two programs have combined for five playoff berths.

Get this: and high schools have only been playing full varsity football for a combined six seasons.

In that time, according to the Georgia High School Football Historians Association, the Wolverines and Longhorns have an overall record of 46-16 and have made the playoffs five times, including this year.

Both teams are hoping to make even bigger strides once the Georgia High School Association playoffs begin next week.

West Forsyth (9-1), which is 32-11 in four full seasons, is the No. 2 seed from Region 6, and will face Etowah in the first round of the Class AAAAA playoffs. It’s a rematch game for the Wolverines, who beat Etowah 21-13 in the third week of the season.

Lambert (8-3), which is 16-5 in its two full seasons, is the No. 3 seed from Region 7-AAAA and will play at Clarke Central in Athens in the Class AAAA first round.
