Forsyth County Enforcement Stats For Holiday Weekend

Enforcement stats from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office and Fire Department for the Memorial Day weekend.

Forsyth and state authorities report some sobering statistics for the Memorial Day weekend.

but none of those incidents occurred in Forsyth County, according to the Georgia Department of Public Safety.

Capt. Tim House of the did report that deputies did issue 45 warnings, 36 citations and there were six people arrested for driving under the influence.

Capt. Jason Shivers of the Forsyth County Fire Department reports, a total of 109 incidents, including the following:

  • Two structure fires with no injuries
  • Two vehicle fires
  • One brush fire
  • One gas leak
  • One smoke scare
  • Eighteen dispatched and cancelled en route calls
  • Six false alarms
  • Sixty-nine medical emergencies

Meanwhile, campaign runs through June 3. According to a news release, all motorists, even those just passing through the state, can expect a ticket if they don’t buckle up.
