Olympics 2012: UGA Alum Amanda Weir Wins Bronze Medal in Freestyle
Brookwood graduate and UGA alum Amanda Weir won the medal during the first full day of the Olympics.
Amanda Weir, along with the rest of her swim team -- Lia Neal, Natalie Coughlin and anchor Allison Schmitt -- won the bronze medal during the 400-meter freestyle Saturday afternoon.
Weir and Schmitt both swam for the Georgia Bulldogs.
They came in behind the Netherlands, while Australia won gold. The Netherlands was just a half second ahead of Team USA.
