Low Speed Internet

We bought a home in Cumming last year and have suffered through AT&T's monopolized service area (or lack there of) for months with no relief. We are only eligible for their their tier two "High" speed internet and they will not or cannot explain why. I am constantly getting alerts that U-verse is available and when I enter our address on AT&T's website to confirm, it states that U-verse is not yet available. The customer "no" service reps confirmed that we are not eligible for U-verse also but cannot explain why or when we might be. I read this week that a guy that lives in the  area close to the North Pole has fiber in his house...how is it that someone who lives in such a remote area of the world, enjoys technology that we cannot? I live less than a few hundred yards from a major Cumming intersection which is home to Publix, a bank and several other businesses that surely rely on high speed internet to conduct their daily business...Comcast seems to be the obvious solution, with purported upload speeds rivaling fiber and far exceeding Uverse's. Guess what...Comcast is not available at our address either. So I ask my techno savvy fellow Cumming neighbors...what am I to do? I am trying to run a business out of my home and slow internet speed is killing me! Please help, if you can.
