Active Adult Communities in Forsyth County

We are seeing a growing demand for Active Adult Communities in Forsyth County.  People are living longer, healthier lives than ever before.  The trend is showing up in the increased popularity of Active Adult Communities, and Forsyth County is a very attractive place to call home.

We have 2 separate styles of Active Adult Communities.  The first is attached units, which are typically ranch quads with 4 units or ranch duplexes with 2 units.  There are 5 of these communities in our county.  The second style is single family detached homes, and there are 9 of these communities to choose from.  The prices range from the 160’s all the way up to the low 400’s. 

More than anything, what these communities offer is a lifestyle.  Many offer modern clubhouses that boast facilities designed to support active recreations.  Scenic walking and biking trails help keep residents on the move as well.  Of course, there is more to an active lifestyle than being physically fit. Active adults today are finding joy in discovering a well-balanced lifestyle. It means taking part in social clubs and trying a variety of new experiences.

One outstanding benefit that Forsyth County offers to seniors is an exemption to the Homeowners who are 65 years of age on or before January 1.  They are entitled to a full exemption in the school general and school bond tax categories, which make up 70-80% of the property tax.

Perhaps the best value in Forsyth County right now can be found at Sawnee Corners which is off Highway 20 behind the Zaxby’s as you head west out of town.  New Construction 2 bedroom homes are available in the $170’s.  The builder has done a fantastic job and the community is about 90% complete with 6 homes left to be built.
