Market Data from 3rd Quarter Shows Many Positive Indicators!

What a difference a year makes - sales and prices are up and inventory is down!

The third quarter market data is in and Forsyth County has many key indicators going in the right direction.

Here are the highlights:

* YTD sales of single-family detached residences are up 7.7 percent from the same time last year.

* The percentage of foreclosure sales dropped 5.0 percent to 10.7 percent of total sales.

* The percentage of short sales increased from 13.6 percent to 16.4 percent.

* The median sales price saw a 4.8 percent increase, marking the third consecutive quarterly increase after several years of decreased values.

* The median Days on Market was 84 - a 4.5 percent decrease.

* And perhaps the brightest spot for home sellers - overall inventory is down 27 percent from this time last year.
