Forsyth County’s Great American Cleanup Approaching

In celebration of Earth Day, organizers with Keep Forsyth County Beautiful is readying for a local cleanup effort on Saturday.

Organizers with Keep Forsyth County Beautiful (KFCB) encourages everyone to make a difference this weekend by getting a group of volunteers together to help clean up the county in celebration of Earth Day.

Saturday, April 20, is "Forsyth County’s Great American Cleanup at Fowler Park located at 4110 Carolene Way, off of Atlanta Highway across from the intersection with Castleberry Road.

Volunteers already committed to participate will meet in the large pavilion at the park at 9 a.m. for a brief rally and to gather supplies. Then, groups will clean up the community for two hours before returning to the Fowler Park pavilion for food and fun.

"This is a local annual cleanup event held in conjunction with the nationwide Great American Cleanup," said environmental program manager Tammy Wright in a news release. This is a great opportunity for volunteers – whether individuals, community organizations, businesses, scout troops or clubs – to come out and really make a positive impact on our community by cleaning up litter throughout the county."

To participate in the Great American Cleanup in Forsyth County, register online at the Connect Forsyth Web site by Wednesday, April 18.
