Have You Met Debbie Bertsch?

Shopping is for the dogs, literally! At the Humane Society Thrift Store, Debbie Bertsch is in demand nearly every day of the week, but it's the puppy love that keeps her coming back.


Debbie Bertsch is the office manager at the . The shop is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and you'll usually find Debbie holding a puppy while she's helping a customer.

When customers are shopping, Debbie knows they are saving the animals with every dollar spent as all proceeds benefit the  to help defray the cost of maintaining the no-kill shelter.

One of Debbie's favorite aspects of the job is fostering the animals that come into the store. Many of these animals have found their forever homes just through being in the store exhibiting stellar behavior and irresistible cuteness.

"It is a rare and awesome thing when you can say you love your job and know that you have truly helped save the life of an animal each and every day," says Debbie who has also adopted a dog from the shelter.
