UPDATE: Man Dies in Water Line Construction Accident in Nearby Alpharetta

Forsyth County was first called to the scene, but first responders realized the location was in Alpharetta, so the city got the call.

Update: 2-28-13, 8:52 a.m. A construction worker died in an accident at McGinnis Ferry Road and Windward Concourse early Wednesday afternoon, according to the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. Manuel Aguirre, 49, of Duluth, was run over by a backhoe at around noon on Feb. 27. He was dead on the scene, said George Gordon, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety. The victim was working for B&H Construction Co., a subcontractor on a Fulton County water project. The company was laying water lines. Forsyth County was first called to the scene, but first responders realized the location was in Alpharetta, so the city got the call. "So we are handling the investigation," Gordon said. News Nearby: Victims Found on GA 400, Greenway Died of Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wounds

Authorities have ended their investigations into the unrelated incidents.

Investigators have concluded that a motorist found dead in his car and a man whose body was found near the Big Creek Greenway both were the victims of self-inflicted gunshot wounds. Police closed their investigations into the unrelated incidents today, said George Gordon, spokesman for the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. Alpharetta police responded to a call by a Georgia Department of Transportation HERO driver on Dec. 12. The HERO unit operator found a man inside a car on GA 400 northbound just north of Kimball Bridge Road. The man in the car was dead. News Nearby: Authorities Confirm Body Found on Greenway

The remains of a man were found on the trail system south of Kimball Bridge Road.

Detectives in nearby Alpharetta are investigating the discovery of the decomposed remains of a man on the Big Creek Greenway trail system. George Gordon, spokesman for the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety, said the remains were found at a location south of Kimball Bridge Road in North Fulton County. UPDATE: Authorities Report Suspect Found

No details are available, but reportedly a suspect wanted in connection with the aggravated assault of his wife has taken his own life.

Update: Aug. 2, 11:50 a.m. Police have cancelled a lookout for Samuel Smith III, who apparently took his own life. No details are available at this time. Authorities Investigate Storm-Related Fatality

An elderly woman apparently crawled into a drain pipe in fear of the storm.

Police in nearby Alpharetta are investigating a storm-related fatality from Friday night's severe weather. An elderly woman was found dead in a creek near her home, having apparently first climbed into a drain pipe in fear of the storm. Late in the evening at the height of the severe weather hitting the city, the Alpharetta 911 center took a call from a man saying his elderly wife was missing. The last contact the husband had with his wife is when she told her husband she was going to take shelter in a closet due to the weather, according to George Gordon, spokesman for the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. Totally agree with Mark. On Channel 11 the forecaster was screaming that a tornado was on the ground and coming thru Kennesaw towards Roswell/Alpharetta.
