Reviewer Not Wild About Animal Collective's Show at Verizon
But young crowd at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre seems to love the music.
Animal Collective brought their psychedelic sound to Verizon Wireless Encore Park Amphitheatre in nearby Alpharetta on Friday night. I am not especially a fan of techno-psychedelic jam bands so I find it difficult to say anything positive about this evening's concert. Especially since the band barely filled more than half of the orchestra section. This is not to say that Animal Collective's musicians do not know their craft. The band's members include Avey Tare, Panda Bear, Deakin and Geologist. Or, if you wanted to look them up in the phone book that would be David Portner, Noah Lennox, Josh Dibb and Brian Weitz. Hey Chris, I greatly appreciate your take, and I'm cool with your comments. If you read the review carefully then you understand that I admire the band's talent very much. The fact that this particular genre is not my cup of tea, is really no big deal. I review bands from hip hop to classical. I don't like all of them and that's ok. more ›
