Forsyth Investigators Arrest Man in Carjacking, Armed Robbery

Forsyth County investigators arrest a suspect wanted for allegedly stealing a family member's car and guns who also is wanted in nearby Alpharetta for armed robbery and carjacking.

A 31-year-old man, a resident of Atlanta, has been arrested and charged in connection with a carjacking and a separate armed robbery in nearby Alpharetta last week, and on car theft and gun theft charges in Forsyth County. The armed robbery took place at BeJewel, a Windward Parkway business, on Aug. 17 at 12:49 p.m., according to George Gordon, spokesperson for the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. The carjacking took place in the parking lot of a local mall on Aug. 17 at 8:40 p.m. Since then, the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety’s Criminal Investigative Division has been conducting investigations. Cumming Police Arrest Two Men in Connection with Store Robbery

Anonymous tips led investigators to the suspects.

Cumming Police, with assistance from the Hall County Sheriff's Office, have arrested two men for allegedly robbing the Puff N Stuff Smoke Shop located at 410 Atlanta Road last month. Elmer Matthews, 18, and John S. Poss, 22, both of Flowery Branch were arrested early Tuesday morning outside their homes, located "a few doors apart" and each charged with theft by taking felony and armed robbery, according to Sgt. Bryan Zimbardi.  The arrests stem from a Feb. 29 incident in which surveillance video shows a man walking in the store appearing to be a customer. A few moments later a second man enters the store. Video Released of Armed Robbery in Cumming

The Cumming Police Department releases surveillance video and photos of a recent armed robbery at a local business.

The Cumming Police Department has released the surveillance video and photos of the February 29 armed robbery of the Puff N Stuff Smoke Shop located at 410 Atlanta Road in Cumming. On that Wednesday about 9:30 p.m., a man walked into the store appearing to be a customer. A few moments later a second man enters the store, according to authorities. Sgt. Bryan Zimbardi told Cumming Patch in the video you will see the armed robber grab the customer, put a gun to his head and demand money from the clerk. Then the suspect leaves the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. Armed Robbery Suspect Sought by Cumming Police

The suspect who is described as a white man in his early to mid-20's fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

Cumming Police is looking for an armed robbery suspect who held up a local business Wednesday night. According to Sgt. Bryan Zimbardi, a man walked into the Puff N Stuff Smoke Shop located at 410 Atlanta Road around 9 p.m. Feb. 29. "He grabbed a customer who was already in the store and put a gun to his head and told the clerk to give him the money or he was going to kill the customer," Zimbardi said. The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. Zimbardi said when the officer arrived at the store the victim was also gone before the officer could talk with him. Police describe the suspect as a white man in his early to mid-20's and urge anyone with information about this crime to call the Cumming PD at 770-781-2000. …

Sheriff's Office Assists in Roswell Home Invasion

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office K9 unit assisted Roswell Police in the investigation of a home invasion where a Roswell family was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night, Dec. 28.

UPDATE: 12-29-11, 11:35 p.m. (information about suspects not being released) Authorities have made arrests in the armed robbery of an Indian family within the Hadfield subdivision in Roswell Wednesday night. But, Roswell Police Department Spokesperson Lt. James McGee said police won't be releasing any more information on the eight arrested suspects right now because of ongoing investigations into other crimes possibly committed by the same suspects. In recent months, there have been a rash of burglaries seemingly targeting Asian Indians. The specific ethincity is reportedly being targeted for their gold, since the value is continuing to go up. As reported on Wednesday, Sandy Springs Police arrested David L. Geary, 28, of Cumming on an outstanding warrant from a Sept. 28 burglary near Hammond Drive and Glenridge Road.

The victim of a Cumming home invasion, on Halloween, has been arrested for a September burglary in Sandy Springs. Sandy Springs Police arrested David L. Geary, 28, of Cumming on an outstanding warrant from a Sept. 28 burglary at 5820 Greenbrier Road, near Hammond Drive and Glenridge Road. Cash totaling $10,000, jewelry, a vehicle title, and car and home keys were among the items taken in the burglary, according to the SSPD. The homeowner told police that a man knocked on her door and asked for “James,” on Sept. 27, the day before the burglary. “When this burglary occurred, there was a construction worker across the street that saw it,” said Sandy Springs Police Lt. Two Men Arrested and Charged in South Forsyth Liquor Store Robbery

Both suspects were in custody within a few hours following the armed robbery.

Two men have been arrested and charged with the Sept. 2 robbery at a South Forsyth County liquor store, according to a news release Thursday by the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office. Jonathan Blake Reid, 21, of DeMalle Court in Alpharetta, was charged with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and tampering with evidence. Jamario Stephan Barnwell, 21, of Walnut Way in Union City, was charged with two counts of armed robbery. Lt. Col.
