Cumming Christmas Parade, Jingle Jog, Tree Lighting Saturday

The holiday season kicks off this weekend in Cumming with a 5K, Christmas parade and tree lighting event.

It's probably safe to say that this weekend kicks off the Christmas season in Cumming with three annual holiday events. There's the 7th annual Cumming Christmas Parade, the 3rd annual Jingle Jog and the 24th annual Celebration of Lights all taking place on Saturday, Dec. 1. The day begins with the Jingle Jog 5K, a Peachtree Road Race qualifier, with registration at 7:30 a.m. The race starts at 9 a.m. beginning at 2085 Market Place Boulevard in the Cumming Town Center. From that point on participants will travel east down Mary Alice Park Road and loop around bringing you back to Cumming Town Center (click here for the race route). Cumming Christmas Parade and Festival This Weekend

Christmas is in the air around Cumming and there's plenty to do this weekend.

  The Cumming Christmas parade, one of the biggest celebrations of the year in Forsyth County, takes place Saturday, Dec. 3 along Market Place Boulevard. The event is brought to you by the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce and the City of Cumming. “Everybody loves a parade,” said Cumming Mayor H. Ford Gravitt, in a statement on the Marketplace Christmas Web site. In addition to the parade, the celebration begins on Saturday with the annual Jingle Jog 5K, ending with the Celebration of Lights and the lighting of the Christmas tree at Northside Hospital-Forsyth. Hi Jessica, anywhere just south of Buford Dam Road on Marketplace Blvd. is a great location to watch the parade. The parade lineup begins near the vicinity of the Kani House restaurant and ends near Lowe's...hope this helps.   more ›
