The 15th annual Christmas in Cumming Arts and Crafts Show takes place this Friday and Saturday, Dec. 7 and 8 at the fairgrounds. The two-day event is expected to attract thousands of people. "We'll get anywhere from five to seven thousand people on Friday night and Saturday," said Bill Watson, event coordinator. The show, held inside the heated red livestock barn located at the Cumming Fairgrounds, takes place on Friday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. "The arts and crafts booths are in the stalls," said Watson. "It actually creates a pretty cool atmosphere. Everybody decorates and kind of goes all out for the holidays." Watson said about 100 arts and crafts vendors are participating. Enjoy the Christmas light show in northwest Forsyth County and help raise funding and awareness for Family Haven.
Local Christmas decorators, Larry Drum, Brian Todd and Chris Hoard have turned their passion for lights and the joy of Christmas into a major charity event for Forsyth County Family Haven. Families are invited to experience this spectacular holiday light show this Christmas season, and at the same time have the opportunity to give back to the local community. This is the sixth year for the show and once again it is bigger and better than last year with more than 250,000 lights “dancing” to the beat of 20 Christmas classics. The decorators hope the spirit of the season will directly help raise funding and awareness for Family Haven, which provides victims of domestic violence and their families a variety of services.
