Demolition Company Awarded Bid to Bring Down Forsyth Parking Deck
A nearby Gainesville company has been awarded the bid to demolish the county's parking deck and government buildings.
The company, Industrial Facilities Solutions (IFC) of Gainesville, has been awarded the bid by the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners to demolish the parking deck and other structures on the site of the new courthouse. The 5-0 vote came during Tuesday's work session. Procurement Director Donna Kukarola said IFC's fee to do the work will cost $385,000. "All site work will be completed within 45 days of issuance of noticed to proceed," she said. The board also approved Turner Construction and Winter Construction to provide construction management at risk services for the jail and courthouse project at their Dec. 6 meeting. The approximately $6.3 million cost will be the fees of the construction manager at risk, according to Kukarola. …
