Deputy Sheriff William McConnell Jr. has been named "Deputy of the Month" for May.
The North Precinct of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office names Deputy Sheriff William McConnell Jr. "Deputy of the Month" for May. This is an honor he has held before, being named Deputy of the Month for last July and August, and Deputy of the Year, North Precinct for 2011. This time DS McConnell was selected for helping to save a man's life, according to Capt. Mark Flowers, North Precinct Commander. After a call was placed to 911 on May 21, McConnell followed up to see what the problem was at the residence. All he knew was that the caller said a 58-year-old man was gasping for air and having a possible allergic reaction. Olson is being recognized for her response to a disturbing incident on May 28. Deputy Sheriff Jon Beival earns Deputy of the Month for April for catching a cat burglar.
The South Precinct of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office names Deputy Sheriff Jon Beival it's Deputy of the Month for April. He earns the title due to his investigative work in confirming and apprehending a cat burglar following a vehicle accident, according to Capt. Ron Freeman, South Precinct Commander. On April 26, while Deputy Sheriff Beival was working a motor vehicle accident, he noticed a gold Toyota wagon pass by the scene. “DS Beival made an executive decision to advise the driver, who was waiting for a wrecker and was parked in an area that was not a hazard, that he would return shortly so he could stop the Toyota wagon,” said Capt. Deputy Sheriff Robin Regan is recognized for his investigative skills in several cases, including a domestic dispute.
Deputy Sheriff Robin Regan has been selected as the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office North Precinct Deputy of the Month for April 2012. He is being recognized due to his 10 misdemeanor arrests and two felony arrests, including a domestic violence issue, according Capt. Mark Flowers, North Precinct commander. In April, while responding to a domestic dispute, Regan is credited with helping the victim who fled into the woods. He found her safely after she had started sending suicidal text messages. He is also responsible for arresting two drivers for DUI and responding to a party where underage drinking was allegedly occurring. Deputy Sheriff Lora Hoek earns Deputy of the Month for January for helping to catch the bad guys.
The North Precinct of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office names Deputy Sheriff Lora Hoek it's Deputy of the Month for January. She earns the title due to her response to a burglary-in-progress call on January 24, according to Capt. Mark Flowers, North Precinct Commander. While Deputy Hoek was on her way to investigate the incident, she noticed two men walking in the area that matched the description of the suspects that allegedly had committed the burglary. Foster's "keen eye and instinct” removes another dangerous drug dealer off the streets of Forsyth County.
The South Precinct of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office names Deputy Sheriff II Matt Foster "Deputy of the Month" for a second time in 2011. Foster was recently named November's Deputy of the Month due to his consistent desire to remove dangerous criminals off the streets of Forsyth County, according to Capt. Ron Freeman, South Precinct Commander. On Nov. 14, 2011, Deputy Sheriff Foster pulled over the driver of a vehicle that was traveling 95 mph on Georgia 400 heading northbound near McFarland Parkway. The South and North precincts of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office honors Deputy Sheriff II Kevan Boddy and Corporal Brandon Wiley as Deputies of the Month for October, 2011. Deputy Boddy earns the distinguished honor for his crucial role in capturing a suspect who fled from the scene of a home that was being burglarized on Canton Highway, according to South Precinct Commander Capt. Ron Freeman. As deputies were arriving on the scene of the alleged crime, three men took off and ran into the woods. Deputy Boddy and two other deputies were instructed to stay in the area and look for the suspects. Corporal Tyler Sexton and Deputy First Class David Abell have earned deputies of the month awards for September.
The South and North precincts of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office named Corporal Tyler Sexton and Deputy First Class David Abell their September 2011, Deputies of the Month. Cpl. Sexton was instrumental in assisting investigators on the Milano Jewelry store burglary that happened on Sept. 25. He helped in the identification of several suspects and a vehicle that was used in the burglary. To date eight people have been arrested and about $300,000 in jewelry have been returned. An estimated $2.6 to $2.8 million worth of merchandise and personal items were taken during the heist. “If it had not been for Cpl. Deputy Wiley named August Deputy of the Month for helping to locate two missing boys and for foiling a suspected burglary.
The South Precinct of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office names Deputy First Class Brandon Wiley as “Deputy of the Month” for August 2011. According to Capt. Ron Freeman, South Precinct Commander, DFC Wiley was chosen for a variety of incidents and traffic stops he was involved in over the summer. “Deputy Wiley made several traffic stops that resulted in the arrest of six people--four for outstanding warrants and two for driving without a license,” said Capt. Deputy McConnell named Deputy of the Month for August, his second consecutive month.
For the second consecutive month Deputy Sheriff William McConnell Jr. has been named "Deputy of the Month" for August at the North Precinct of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. He also held the distinction for the month of July. According to Capt. Mark Flowers, commander of the North Precinct, Deputy McConnell was chosen again because of an incident that occurred on Aug. 25. It was on that day that Deputy McConnell was following up on a lead concerning at least two burglaries. During the investigation, McConnell recognized two men caught on video surveillance taken at a local business.
