Cumming Girl Scout Troop Takes a Bite Out of the Big Apple
Experiencing Central Park, Ellis Island, the Cake Boss and even Neville Longbottom, the group returned home to Cumming after a six-day whirlwind trip, tired but happy to have gone.
Cumming's local Girl Scout Troop 13816 returned from a six-day trip to New York City where they took a huge bite out of the Big Apple. Troop Leader Melissa Loggins said that the group consisted of ten people: five Ambassador scouts—Forsyth County high school juniors and seniors—and five chaperones. Loggins laughed as she explained that because of the destination, parents wanted to go, too. The group had originally planned to see Europe, but due to significant costs, New York City became the final location. Funding was provided through fund raisers and cookie sales.
