Pete Amos, New Chair of Forsyth BOC

As the new year begins, the Forsyth County BOC elect a new chairman, vice chairman and secretary.

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners has a new leader. Pete Amos, who represents District 1 and is beginning his third year on the board, was elected Thursday evening as chairman. During the first regular board meeting of the New Year, Amos received 4-0 votes, with Todd Levent absent. Members of the board also elected former chairman Jim Boff, who serves District 5, as vice chairman, and District 2 Commissioner Brian Tam to serve as secretary, again the votes were 4-0. Boff and Tam were re-elected to their seats last summer, Boff serving his second term and Tam his third. This was also the first official meeting for newly elected Commissioner Cindy Jones Mills, who is serving her first term in District 4. She defeated incumbent …
