A 31-year-old man is charged with 11 sex crimes involving at least four boys he falsely met on Facebook.
A Cumming man faces 11 sex crimes for allegedly posing as a teenage girl on Facebook to elicit sexual images from middle-school age boys, according to authorities. Forsyth County Sheriff's Office investigators arrested 31-year-old Brendan J. Spaar Tuesday night and charged him with four counts of child molestation, four counts of sexual exploitation of children and three counts of computer pornography. According to Investigator J.D. This week is the last chance for Facebook Timeline procrastinators to switch over before Facebook does it for you.
This week we’re starting a new series titled “Last Chance.” Each week, we will find something readers in our area have one more chance to take care of before it’s too late. Cumming Patch recently featured an opinion piece about Facebook affairs involving married individuals. We asked reader's to take our poll that included various stages of these so-called "online affairs." We had two ties in four of the 10 categories and found in the first tie, 27 percent of reader's who took our poll said they either chatted late at night with someone of the opposite sex on Facebook or have had married people on their Facebook page try to hit on them. In the second tie, 18 percent of reader's said they either caught their spouse chatting with a member of the opposite sex on Facebook or were engaged in a Facebook affair. On Wednesday Facebook officially filed an initial public offering (IPO).
Soon you may be able to buy stock in Facebook. The social media giant officially filed an initial public offering (IPO) on Wednesday, Feb. 1, according to PC Mag. The S-1 form filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission showed that the company has been profitable for the past three years. It also revealed that in December 2011 Facebook had more than 425 million monthly active users. As far as that stock is concerned - the company said it would begin the sale of stock to the public "as soon as practicable."

Social Media giant Facebook is getting ready to throw the switch on a new feature called Timeline. This is basically a new profile format that chronicles a user's past through photos and older posts. While many user's have made the switch voluntarily, those who have not will be forced to switch over, according to the Associated Press. Some users are being told by Facebook that they have until Wednesday, Feb. 1 to organize their profiles before the switch is activated. Trey Scott Spencer, age 15, of Cumming, passed away Monday, Nov. 28, 2011. He was a student at North Forsyth High School. Trey will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, and friend to all who knew him. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Shann Clayton and Darrell Outlaw of Rock Hill, SC; father and stepmother, Scott and Lisa Spencer of Cumming; sisters, Erika and Erin Spencer; grandmother, Carolyn Clayton of Rock Hill, SC; numerous step siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives also survive. Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rex Byrd and Rev. Gary Coffey officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
