Michele Keller Chesnut worked for Walmart Pharmacy for more than 23 years and had worked for Goodson Drugs in downtown Cumming.
A 53-year-old woman from Cumming was struck and killed on her bicycle Friday afternoon while cycling on State Route 11 in north Georgia, authorities said. Michele Keller Chesnut, who was riding southbound on State Route 11, was struck head-on by a 2001 Ford Explorer driven by Lemrae Dana Winkler, 40, of Sautee Nacoochee, Ga. Robin Stone of the Georgia State Patrol (Post 37) said the collision happened around 4:21 p.m. after Winkler was traveling north on State Route 11 in her SUV. While she was negotiating a curve to the right, her vehicle crossed the centerline, went off to the west shoulder, then back onto the roadway striking Chestnut on her bicycle. Update: 2-28-13, 8:52 a.m. A construction worker died in an accident at McGinnis Ferry Road and Windward Concourse early Wednesday afternoon, according to the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety. Manuel Aguirre, 49, of Duluth, was run over by a backhoe at around noon on Feb. 27. He was dead on the scene, said George Gordon, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety. The victim was working for B&H Construction Co., a subcontractor on a Fulton County water project. The company was laying water lines. A fatal car accident Monday afternoon claims the life of a North Forsyth High School student and injures four others.

A 43-year-old Cumming man was pronounced dead at the scene following a crash with a tractor-trailer.
A 43-year-old man from Cumming died Friday morning after being struck by a tractor-trailer on Highway 369 in west Forsyth County. Peter Trione, who was driving a 2007 black Ford F150 truck, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Investigator Ron Tomblin of the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office. The press release stated that Trione was heading eastbound on Highway 369 near the intersection of Hubert Martin Road when he left the roadway for an unknown reason. When he returned back onto the roadway, he went across the road into the westbound lane and was struck by a tractor-trailer on the passenger side of the Ford truck.
