3-Vehicle Accident in North Forsyth Sends 4 to Hospital

One driver was cited for following too closely.

A three-vehicle accident on GA 400 Thursday evening during rush hour sent four people to the hospital for injuries they received in the crash. Robin Stone of the Georgia State Patrol told Cumming Patch today that around 6:07 p.m. on April 11, two vehicles were traveling northbound in the left lane, while a third vehicle was heading in the same direction in the right lane. As traffic congestion forced them to slow down, one of the vehicles in the left lane rear-ended the other vehicle sharing that lane. The impact caused the car that was hit to cross over into the right lane, striking the left side of the third vehicle. That impact also sent the first two vehicles into the cable median barrier, where they both came to a stop. The victims …

Maintenance Work Affects GA 400, Highway 306 in North Forsyth

Single lane closure through the work zone on Georgia 400 may slow traffic flow down this week.

Routine maintenance activities are planned for this week in Forsyth, Dawson and Hall counties, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. Crews are scheduled to pick-up litter along Georgia 400 through Friday, March 1, weather permitting. This work will require a single lane closure through the work zone, which may cause brief delays. They will also be patching damaged asphalt on Highway 306 and Highway 9. Teri Pope, spokesperson for the GDOT, said she did not have the exact locations of where crews will be working along the mentioned highways. "It depends on the weather and how quickly they get their other assignments done for the week and which areas are trashiest," she said. The same holds true for the repair work on Highway…

I too work, travel and own property that area and have thought an exit in that area is overdue . It seems a logical placement to those of us who have seen the growth in the last decade. It always seemed to me there should have been an exit there from Ga.400's inception.   more ›

I'm very excited to try this new lane. I do feel it needs to be extended to exit 13. I live in Cumming and work in Alpharetta, my commute to work is a breeze once 400 opens up at McFarland, my drive home however is usually at least 45 minutes to an hour. That's always fun with a tired, hungry toddler in the backseat.   more ›
