Romney Has Success with Media Coverage, Gingrich Not So Much

Mitt Romney's media coverage leading into Super Tuesday has been positive.

The Republican presidential primary is well underway in Georgia and when it comes to positive media coverage of the candidates Mitt Romney performed well, according to a study by the Pew Research Center. The study found that Romney's news coverage was 45 percent positive and only 28% negative. Rick Santorum was a close second with 38 percent positive coverage and 30 percent negative. Ron Paul was third with 36 percent and 23 percent negative. Newt Gingrich came in last with only 20 percent positive and a whopping 43 percent negative news coverage.

Voter Registration Deadline Today

Today is the last day you can register to vote in the March 6 primary.

The voter registration deadline for the 2012 Presidential Preference Primary is today, Monday, Feb. 6. The General Primary Election will be held on March 6.   To register to vote in Georgia, you must be: a citizen of the United States, a legal resident of Georgia and of the county in which you wish to vote, and at least 18 years of age by Election Day. Voter registration forms are available on the Forsyth County Government Web site. If you move to a new county, you will need to re-register. The same form is used for voter registration, address change and/or name change. Iowa caucuses are today. Who will win and why?

With the Iowa caucuses opening today, the race for the Republican presidential nomination is off and running. A lot will happen between now and when the Georgia presidential primary is held on March 6. Forsyth County and the City of Cumming will join a growing number of municipalities across the state in letting citizens decide if they want approval of the sale of alcoholic beverages on Sunday.
