Editor's Note: Article submitted by the Lambert Touchdown Club. Fans, add your comments about favorite moments of the game at the end of this article. Two teams close enough to be a sibling rivalry came out to 'The Horn' Friday night bringing an audience of more than one thousand students and 11 Alive coverage to watch the Longhorns and War Eagles. South Forsyth was looking to break a two game losing streak, yet showed little life on the field to achieve such aspirations. The stars were out under the stadium lights this Friday night when the Northview Titans hosted the Lambert Longhorns in a game of two teams known for the ground and pound run game. Everyone knew to watch for Lambert’s diverse quarterback Brock Maxwell and Northview’s explosive Terrence Upshaw, and neither disappointed with nearly 500 all-purpose yards and five touchdowns between them. Lambert’s workhorse tailback Daniel Myers also put on a show with nearly one 150 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. The outcome of the game was foreshadowed well by the opening kickoff, a squib, returned by Lambert to their opponent’s 45-yard line to start the game. Lambert seemed to struggle early with a run for negative yardage and a holding call …

Lambert eked out a 19-17 victory in this cliffhanger that Longhorn Nation will be talking about for some time to come. Trailing 17-16 following a 38 yard field goal by Ryan Karjala at the 8:09 mark, the Longhorns forced the Hornets into a three-and-out situation and took possession of the football on its own 44 with a fair catch by Brandon Miller on a Roswell punt. Only 5:59 remained in the game, but strong runs by James Little, Brock Maxwell and Daniel Myers were nullified by penalties during the Lambert possession forcing the Longhorns to attempt a 53-yard …
