Paying it Forward in a Small, Simple Way in a Red Truck

One of our users on Cumming Patch posted the following "Thank You" to an anonymous person in a red truck who paid for lunch.

I remember some years ago while heading to work at the CNN Center, as I made my usual stop at the Georgia 400 toll booth to pay my $.50, a nice thing happened to me. As I waited for my turn to pay the attendant, the person in the car in front of me paid my toll booth fee. It totally made my day! Just a simple gesture of giving back put a smile on my face and made me want to pay it forward. As I headed home later that day, I did the same thing for the person in the car behind me. How crazy is that? A simple act of kindness to make a stranger, friend, family member, animal or all of the above happy, in my opinion, it's a great thing to do. Cumming McDonald's Giving Away Free Coffee

Sept. 29 is National Coffee Day and in celebration of the occasion McDonald's in Cumming will be giving away free coffee for a week to customers.

  To celebrate National Coffee Day on Sept. 29, McDonald's is giving a free small coffee to customers in Cumming for an entire week. “Serving hot, freshly brewed coffee is a universal way to show appreciation and we’re thrilled to share our Premium Roast McCafe Coffee with customers for free,” said John Tamasi, Atlanta area owner/operator. “No strings attached – just visit a participating McDonald’s and enjoy a free small coffee at one of our 285 restaurants in the Atlanta area.”  According to a press release from McDonald's, recent findings by the National Coffee Association found that Coffee isn’t just for breakfast anymore. McDonald's Adding Calorie Counts to Menus

Staring this month, McDonald's menus will have calorie information on its restaurant and drive-through menus.

McDonald’s announced Wednesday it is adding calorie information on restaurant and drive-through menus across the U.S., starting this month. According to a press release from Kim Leslie, account associate with MSL Atlanta on behalf on McDonald’s, this is just another step to the restaurant chain’s journey toward helping customers and employees make informed nutrition choices. “In addition to evolving our menu board labeling, we published our first-ever nutrition progress report and revealed several upcoming menu innovations that will include recommended food groups from the United States Department of Agriculture’s 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans reflected in the messages supporting MyPlate,” Leslie said. “These are the latest in a …

McDonald's New Mighty Wings Take Flight

McDonald’s restaurants in Cumming are serving a new menu item - Mighty Wings.

Atlanta area McDonald's this week became the only restaurants in the chain to serve the new menu item - Mighty Wings. According to Kim Leslie, an account associate with MSL representing Greater Atlanta McDonald’s, Cumming area McDonald’s restaurants will be participating in the rollout of the Mighty Wings. “Atlanta will be the only market in the U.S. to offer Mighty Wings in 2012. The crispy, crunchy, spicy, bone-in chicken wings will be available while supplies last,” Leslie said. “Mighty Wings offer Atlantans a new option to satisfy their chicken cravings, whether they prefer drumettes or flats, sauce or no sauce, eating solo or with friends. New McDonald's Offers 'Latest and Greatest'

Saying 'cheese' at McDonald's has a whole new meaning as modern technology helps expedite service.

With an entirely new building and a side-by-side drive-through, McDonald's at 660 Atlanta Road has been running smoothly since it opened for business last month. The official grand opening was held over the weekend with an appearance by Ronald McDonald and events throughout the day.  The two and a half month project to re-build the restaurant began this past June  with the completion of razing of the old store.  “Within 24 hours it was gone. I had people asking ‘what just happened'", said Keith Muller, owner.  The temporary closing of the business meant a lack of revenue as well as serious implications for employees. To help the staff, Muller offered floating positions at other stores to the original staff in order to maintain incomes …
