Proceeds from movie production rental fees donated to Foundation for Ichthyosis & Related Skin Types, Inc.
The Foundation for Ichthyosis & Related Skin Types, Inc. (FIRST) recently received a $35,000 contribution thanks in part to an upcoming Arnold Schwarzenegger movie. Mike Briggs, President-Elect for Foundation for Ichthyosis & Related Skin Types, Inc. (FIRST), was approached by a scouting crew and asked if his Lake Lanier home could be used as a location in “Ten,” an Arnold Schwarzenegger film slated for release in 2014. “I told them they were free to film at my home, as long as they agreed to donate all of the rental fees associated with the use of my property to FIRST,” said Briggs, who will become President of FIRST beginning in January 2013. “When the producers heard that, they decided to make the donation larger and have donated $35,…

At least 50 people are wounded; police have suspect in custody.
Friday, July 20, 10:30 a.m. At least 12 people are reported dead and 50 others are wounded in a shooting that broke out during a midnight showing Thursday of "The Dark Knight Rises" in suburban Denver, according to media reports. Police originally announced that 14 people had died in the attack, but revised the death toll around 7:45 a.m., according to NBC News, which is also reporting that the suspect has been named as 24-year-old James Holmes. Area actors, crew will be on location through February for 'Prosper.'
Solaris Filmwerks just released writer/director Deronte Smith's trailer for his upcoming film, "Prosper." Smith describes the film as "Scream meets The Exorcist." This is Smith's directorial debut, though he's been producing short films and videos for a dozen years in the Atlanta area.
