Welcome to Patch 101, our primer to help users learn how to get the most out of Patch. Unlike many news websites, Patch invites its readers to contribute in more ways than just commenting. One of the questions we hear most is a request to add an event to our calendar. But you don’t need to wait for us—you can do it yourself in seconds. Here’s how: 1. Patch 101: How to Report Lost Pets

Can't find a beloved family pet? Let your neighbors know by posting on Patch.

Sometimes phone calls and wanted posters just aren't enough to bring our furry friends home when they go missing. In that case, Cumming Patch is here to help.  Did you know you can submit an announcement to let the community know and ask for help in bringing your lost pet home.  First click the bolded "Announcements" link under the "News" tab at the top of any Patch page.  Then click "Add an Announcement" on the right-hand side of the page. From there, enter a title and any additional information you can give about your pet. Make sure you select "Lost and Found” under the "Category" selection choice. How Can Relay for Life Teams Use Cumming Patch?

Here are 10 ways you and your team can use Cumming Patch for FREE to honor victims and survivors and help raise cancer awareness and money for a cure.

The culmination of months of fund raising, 2013's Forsyth County Relay for Life, event during which participants will honor cancer victims and survivors and raise awareness and money for a cure, is set for May 3, at the Cumming Fairgrounds located at 235 Castleberry Road. Fifty-eight local teams, with a total of 356 participants, have already raised $72,000, according to the American Cancer Society's event website. They include teams of volunteers from local groups and organizations, schools, churches and businesses. Relay teams (and any other local group or organization) can use Cumming Patch for FREE to promote their efforts, potentially reaching tens of thousands of local residents, including many outside their existing networks. Patch 101: Upload Photos and Videos to Patch

Uploading and sharing on Patch is quick and easy! We would love to see your photos!

Here at Patch we want to be a part of the community, but we can't be everywhere at once. That's where you come in. We need your help. Share your photos and videos from around town right here on Patch. Whether it's a fall photo of your own backyard or a trip to the mountains, a video clip from a school play, or something more newsworthy like a photo of a car accident or a video clip from a school board meeting, we would love for you to share it with the Patch community. Directions: To share, select "Pics & Clips" from the main navigation bar. Once on the new page, there is a button to "Upload Photos and Videos." (Make sure you are already logged in to the site.)
