On the official website of the White House is a facility opening a petition on any issue that you feel needs addressing. What would you like to petition the U.S. Government to do?
The Obama White House offers citizens the opportunity to file a petition on its official website. Several people have already opened petitions asking other people to join them in asking for a variety of issues to be considered by the administration. Included in those petitions gaining popularity are a couple relating to Japan’s territorial issues. Closer to home, are a couple of petitions asking for mandatory labeling of genetically engineered food as well as a petition to prevent the FDA to regulate premium cigars. At last count, more than 30,500 people had digitally signed that petition.
