New Owners of Nail Art & Tanning Bring Experience to Cumming

The salon operators picked Cumming because it "is a nice place with good people."

The new owners of Nail Art & Tanning have a combined 12 years of experience in doing nails. Kevin Lam has been doing nails for nine years, and Ruby Nguygen for three. They bring this expertise to Cumming as the new owners of the business, which is at 2330 Canton Road at Bethelview. Lam said they purchased the salon from the prior owner and moved their services here from Morrow because, “Cumming is a nice place with good people.” According to a news release from the salon, one Cumming resident said she's had her nails done in many places, but "I got an excellent manicure at Nail Talk & Tan. Plus, it was easy to communicate what I wanted because the nail technicians speak English.” Nail Art & Tanning specializes in services ranging from …

They are remodeling and painting the shop to make it light and clean-looking -- they just installed a pretty new marble tile floor, and they've ordered new pedicure chairs. The retail store's grand opening celebration is being held this week.

Forsyth County's Jobless Rate Drops to 6.4 Percent

Forsyth's unemployment rate dropped four-tenths of a percentage point from August's revised rate of 6.8 percent.

A smaller percentage of Forsyth County's labor force was jobless in September than August, and its 6.4 percent unemployment in September was the lowest rate of nearby counties reported by the Georgia Department of Labor today. Cherokee and Hall Counties are just slightly higher at 6.7 percent, and Dawson County at 7.0 percent. While North Fulton's unemployment rate was relatively low, the overall Fulton County rate was much higher at 9.2 percent.
