Now that Spring Break for Forsyth County Schools is underway, are your kids bugging you yet? Are they already saying, "There's nothing to do"? Here at Patch we mean to help, and will use this chance to give you some ideas of places they can go and things they can do if your family didn't head out of town for a vacation. Road trips are the way to go, no matter where you wind up.
Ahhh spring break… Time to get away from it all. But several years ago, I learned there’s more than one way to take a road trip. It was the spring I decided to slow down and stay home for a change. On that first day of the break, my son and I went out to lunch in Roswell, just the two of us. It was a beautiful afternoon so we ate outside. Though I knew it was only lunch, I wanted it to last all day. I think I was a little afraid that our time together just might not be exciting enough for him any more since he was “growing up.” Then it hit me; I’d been going so fast through his days of school, tests, sports and friends that the few minutes we had together during the week were stolen between dinner and bedtime.
