Thursday Weather for Cumming

Mostly cloudy skies moving in followed by rain on Friday and turning windy and much cooler on Saturday.

The mild temperatures we've been enjoying the first part of the week turns cooler as the weekend approaches. Thursday: Partly sunny skies today with temperatures in the mid-70s. Thursday night: Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers and low in the lower 50s. Friday: Showers are likely and with the rain chance at 70 percent, it probably will happen–temperatures turning cooler with hi's only reaching the upper 50s. Friday night: Rain chance decreasing to 40 percent and becoming mostly cloudy with a low around 40. Saturday and Sunday: Sunshine and a bit warmer with a hi of 62 both days. Tuesday Weather for Cumming

Now that all those frost advisories are behind us for now–the weather in Cumming is looking good for the next several days.

The good news–no severe weather advisories to report on, and the good news is that the weather is looking quite sunny for the next several days. Tuesday: Sunshine and comfortable fall temperatures reaching into the mid-70's. Tuesday night: Clear skies with a low of 48. Wednesday: More sunshine and a bit warmer - hi expected to hit 78. Wednesday night: Mostly clear, low around 52. Thursday: A 30 percent chance of rain, otherwise mostly sunny and pleasant with hi's in the mid-70's. Wednesday Weather for Cumming

The weather turns much cooler than what we've been experiencing as we get closer to the weekend.

The weather in Cumming turns abruptly cooler or colder depending on your body temperature. Nevertheless the warmer temperatures take a back seat to the upper 50s to low 60s for our area in the days ahead. Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of rain in the morning, becoming windy with a hi reaching the mid 50s. Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy skies continuing, then giving way to partly cloudy conditions and a bit nippy dropping down to near 42. Thursday: Warmer temperatures with hi's in the low 60s under mostly sunny skies. Thursday Night: The cold snap moves in with mostly clear skies, but low's dipping into the upper 30s. Some rain still lingering but warmer on Wednesday with hi's in the mid-70's.

The sunshine will peak out today, but not by much and the rain decreases to about a 20 percent chance. Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with a chance of drizzle and a slight chance of showers this morning. Highs in the mid 70s, chance of rain 20 percent. Wednesday night: More of the same, 20 percent chance of rain low around 52. Thursday: A 40 percent chance of rain is predicted, otherwise partly sunny and warmer hi in the upper 70s. Friday: Plenty of sunshine returns with a hi reaching the upper 70s. Crisp Fall Weather is Upon Us Cumming

Believe it or not fall has arrived and there is a crisp feel to the air.

Heading into Sunday the weather in Cumming feels chilly, yet bright to end the weekend. Saturday Night into the Overnight: Clear skies are upon us with the low dipping down to around 44. Sunday: Plenty of sunshine and mild with a high reaching 65. Sunday Night: Mostly clear and low headed down to 44. Another Scorcher of a Day in Cumming

A heat advisory is in effect for Forsyth County from 11 a.m. until 5 a.m. Thursday.

It's going to be another scorcher of a day with temperatures expected to reach the high 90s. The Cumming area is under a heat advisory in effect from 11 a.m. until 5 a.m. Thursday morning and a Code Orange unhealthy air alert. According to the advisory issued by the National Weather Service and Weather Bug, the heat advisory is for portions of north and central Georgia, including Forsyth County. The area is expected to have heat  index readings from 107 to 111 (an increase from Tuesday's readings which were 103 to 107). This produces hazardous conditions for outdoor activities. A heat advisory means that a period of dangerous heat is expected. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room and stay out of direct sunshine. Remember…

Code Orange Smog Alert, High Heat Index Today

Air quality in the unhealthy range for sensitive groups and a high heat index level today.

The Georgia Clean Air Campaign has issued a smog alert for Tuesday, July 12. Today’s air quality index (AQI) forecast is 108, an unhealthy range for sensitive groups. The corresponding ozone concentration is 79 parts per billion. A code orange advisory means children, people who are sensitive to ozone, and people with heart or lung disease should limit prolonged outdoor exertion during the late afternoon or early evening when ozone concentrations are highest. The Air Quality Index (AQI) has five color-coded levels: green or good (AQI 0 to 50), yellow or moderate (AQI 51 to 100), orange or unhealthy for sensitive groups (AQI 101-150), red or unhealthy  (AQI 151 to 200) and purple or very unhealthy (AQI 201 to 300).
