Advance voting for the General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 6, continues through Friday, Nov. 2 at the five locations throughout Forsyth County (see below). Online quiz helps voters find the candidate whose views most closely match their own.
With all the news discussion on different policies, tax plans and social issues, it can be difficult to decide which candidate for president best matches your own views. An online quiz on ISideWith.com is trying to help voters decide. The quiz asked voters to select their stances on foreign and domestic issues and the results are then compared with the policy positions of the candidates in order to show quiz takers which candidate has the most similar views. The quiz only takes a couple of minutes to complete. A look at the quiz results for Georgia shows that 52 percent of the voters who took it side most closely with Libertarian Gary Johnson. A nearby Johns Creek eighth grader will be covering the convention for Scholastic Kids Press this week.
Andrew Liang, a 13-year-old student at Autrey Mill Middle School in nearby Johns Creek, is covering the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC, this week for Scholastic News. Liang is an experienced Kid Reporter for the Scholastic News Kids Press Corps, having covered many issues, including education, the economy, and disaster relief during the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan. He has been reporting since at least December 2009, as shown in his blog on Scholastic News Press. At Autrey Mill Middle School, he's a member of the Lion News Network (LNN) team. In addition to being a member of the Scholastic News Kids Press Corps, he is a member of the Georgia Boys Choir, traveling with them to Europe this summer for performances. …

Voters return to the polls today to vote in at least four races during the Primary runoff election.
Today many Forsyth County residents will once again head to the polls to vote in the Primary runoff election races and turnout is expected to be good. "I expect it to be pretty steady," said Barbara Luth, supervisor of the Forsyth County Voter Registrations & Elections Department. "I really do believe they will come out and vote. On the ballot: Join Cumming Patch after the polls close for the results as they come in from all 25 reporting precincts across the county.
