Take the Kids to See Family-Friendly 'Parental Guidance'

Billy Crystal, Bette Milder and three talented child actors make this film, which opens on Christmas Day, worth checking out.

EDITOR'S NOTE:"Parental Guidance" opens Christmas Day at AMC Avenue Forsyth 12 and Carmike Cinemas in Cumming. You'll be forgiven if you think "Parental Guidance," a comedy starring Billy Crystal, Bette Midler and Marisa Tomei seems to follow a standard formula of old vs. new. The producers of the film aren't apologetic about it. They even promote the movie as Old School vs. New School in parenting. As the movie starts, Crystal's character, Artie Decker, a baseball announcer, is having career problems. The last thing Artie wants to do is spend time with his grandchildren. Local Actress Co-Stars in 'Parental Guidance'

Perhaps best known for her tragic role as "Sophia" in AMC's "The Walking Dead" TV series, nearby Alpharetta's Madison Lintz, 13, has shed the zombie makeup for her new role in "Parental Guidance." Opening Christmas Day and starring Billy Crystal, Bette Midler and Marisa Tomei, the family friendly comedy centers on the grandparents portrayed by Crystal and Midler, who are tasked with taking care of their modern-day-raised grandchildren. The movie was filmed at various locations around Atlanta, including Ocee Park in nearby Johns Creek. Madison, or Madi, as she's known, snagged the role of the best friend of Crystal and Midler's granddaughter after auditioning for the part on her last day on "The Walking Dead," also filmed in the Atlanta …
