Quiz: Which Presidental Candidate is Right for You?

Online quiz helps voters find the candidate whose views most closely match their own.

With all the news discussion on different policies, tax plans and social issues, it can be difficult to decide which candidate for president best matches your own views. An online quiz on ISideWith.com is trying to help voters decide. The quiz asked voters to select their stances on foreign and domestic issues and the results are then compared with the policy positions of the candidates in order to show quiz takers which candidate has the most similar views. The quiz only takes a couple of minutes to complete. A look at the quiz results for Georgia shows that 52 percent of the voters who took it side most closely with Libertarian Gary Johnson. Forty-eight percent are most closely aligned with President Barack Obama and 44 percent match …

What Is the Biggest Issue for You in the 2012 Presidential Election?

Now that we are in the final stretch with two fairly certain choices, what will be key in deciding how you cast your ballot in November?

We now, most likely, know what our choices are in November. On one hand, we have incumbent President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden. Challenging them, we have the Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan ticket as potential presidential and vice presidential alternatives. Until Election Day in November, we are going to be bombarded with information — some true, many slightly skewed and some outright lies. That's always been the case. But the one thing that can't be argued is it is two clearly different choices. While many of the issues are going to be debated in a public forum, a vote is a very personal matter. It usually comes down to how things impact the voter directly and not necessarily a big issue that might get a lot of discussion. So what …

Online Tool Matches Voters with Ideal Presidential Candidate

This online free quiz takes an in-depth look at your stance on a range of issues, then compares them to candidates' responses.

The selection of U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan as Republican candidate Mitt Romney's running mate has put the presidential race back on the front burner. And based on the conversations we're seeing on Patch, there are a wide variety of issues that concern readers in Forsyth County and elsewhere when it comes to who will end up in the White House. But do you really know which presidential candidate best matches your stance on those issues?  A new website launched earlier this year to help voters match up with their ideal candidate, and it's quickly gaining popularity through social media channels. In fact, according to iSideWith.com's homepage, more than a million people have taken the free quiz to determine their ideal candidate since it …

Newt Gingrich Brings Campaign, Herman Cain to South Forsyth

Jobs, energy independence message strikes chord with Georgia Republicans on Saturday morning.

Herman Cain was Newt Gingrich's "opening act" at a political rally in south Forsyth County this morning, Feb. 18. The former GOP presidential candidate said he's trying to convince Gingrich to adopt his "9-9-9" plan, but said Newt's own tax plan is the closest to his ideas. Gingrich for his part said no matter what the "lamestream" media says, it's still anybody's race for the Republican nomination, citing his own and Rick Santorum's successes against Mitt Romney. The former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives brought his daughter, Jackie Cushman, grandson, Robert, granddaughter, Maggie, and a friend of hers to the stage at South Forsyth High. The crowd started lining up at 7 a.m., surprising the Forsyth GOP organizers a bit. They…
