Ray Metoyer is a broadcast journalist who has worked in the Atlanta area as an anchor/reporter at WGLC-TV and executive producer for the Black Family Channel. In addition to his background in Atlanta, Metoyer has worked as an anchor and producer at television stations in Houston, Dallas, Denver and his hometown of Omaha, Neb., where he began his career.

Metoyer owns Townhall Productions and has produced or worked on several documentaries, including specials on Luther Vandross, Patti Labelle and Johnny Cochran. He has received five Regional Emmys in Atlanta and Denver for news specials and continuing news coverage.

His documentaries, “Who Killed Emmett Till?”, and “Katrina, After the Storm,” received top honors at the 2007 National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Salute to Excellence Awards.

Metoyer is a longtime member of NABJ and has served on the NABJ Board of Directors as a Regional Director. He is former president of the Atlanta Association of Black Journalists and also active in NATAS and the Atlanta Press Club.
