Before joining UWG in 2010, Yolanda was a reporter for 20 years. In her journalism career she interviewed a Nobel Peace Prize winner, a president of Iceland, a Colombian peace activist, Mexican musical legends, immigrants, refugees, gang members, crime victims and local heroes. She has worked for the Los Angeles Times, Newsday (Long Island, N.Y.), the Sarasota Herald-Tribune (Fla.) and — most recently — the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Her BA in English is from Hunter College, City University of New York. She has a certificate with honors in paralegal studies from Kennesaw State University’s College of Continuing and Professional Education. Yolanda previously worked as a Spanish interpreter for the NYS Unified Court System.
