BIO Gymnastics Welcomes Members of Dynamo UK to the USA

BIO Gymnastics & Athletics Unlimited welcomed 7 team members and 3 coaches from Dynamo UK to their training facility June 15 – 21, 2013. Dynamo is the only UK gymnastics facility to coach both men’s and women’s gymnastics at a high level and has produced past Olympians as well as youths competing for Great Britain, England, Southern Region and Hampshire County. One of the visiting team members, Kelly Simm, (who took the gold on Floor and Vault against Australia in 2012) commented on her experience at BIO, saying, “The gym was great to train in! We managed all [of] our elements.”

As a result of introductions by Cumming resident and current vice president of Dynamo UK, Dr. Vladimir Zaglada (who is also the technical director for BIO Gymnastics), the two gyms facilitated a week-long exchange of gymnasts, coaches and technical expertise. But, there was also time for fun, as the girls were treated to outings at Lake Lanier Islands, Stars N Strikes, Mall of Georgia, Stone Mountain, and the World of Coke. Having families from BIO participate in hosting of the girls allowed strong bonds to be made.

“I have made friends for life,” remarked Dannie.

Coach Vlad remarked, “I have arranged for many receptions such as this throughout the world, Moscow, London, and in all my years I have never seen such a response as this. BIO has far exceeded all expectations for providing such a warm reception.”
